Was a really fun game and a really great aesthetic with the paper art. It was spooky and while I think I was missing the myth behind the game. Was interesting and really fun! Never drive at night unless you have flood lights strapped to your scooter!
Ah! I see! Thanks man, really glad you like it so far. Second short creepy tale is on the working. You should consider stay in touch via Twitter and Facebook. ;)
Really cool game! Want to go do some research on what this game is based on because its actually pretty scary! Big thanks to the developers for this game! We need more games based on culture and folklore!
The art style is refreshing to see in this kind of storytelling, and that (BEWARE SPOILER) jumpscare seriously almost stopped my pitiful heart (I'm not a fan of horror tbh :'D ). Keep up the great job ^^
Glad you love it so far! Second short creepy tale is in the making! :D Consider to stay in touch via our twitter and facebook for updates! (@CellarVault /CellarVault)
Telling a creepy story in this style is really cool. It feels like I watching a paper theatre during the gameplay. This is something you should continue. A horror story in this form based on chinese folklore elements is so intriguing!
I'm not very familiar with chinese horror culture, but this was a wonderful introduction for me and got me Googling. I really liked the way you presented the story, from the paper mario-esque art style to the general ominous tone. It's definitely far from a proper 'game', but whatever it is, I think it's a success and hope to play more from you in the future!
Hope you enjoy my Lumps Play. Cheers and keep it up! 🍻
Thanks for trying the Long Road Ahead, glad you enjoyed it so far. Please google up Chinese Ghost Festival, and Qing Ming Festival for more the part we were actually referencing on. :)
Do consider to stay in touch via our Twitter and Facebook group. @CellarVault
This is an interesting game to me, a Chinese culture inspired horror game made by westerners...never imagine that to happen. Both Gui Da Qiang and Jiang Shi are very popular horror materials in China, I have no problems in understanding them. The storyline seemed clear to me: the 2 Jiang Shi have forced the protagonists into the state of Gui Da Qiang, their purpose is to reincarnet by take their bodies. The old styled latern with the first name of the girl and the boy written on it means that they are already dead, as the type of latern is usually used on the Qing Ming or the Zhong Yuan festivals. At the end of the story, the 2 protagonists' souls may be already been transferred to Jiang Shi as their bodies have been possessed, a true sad story. A little mistake is that the girl's first name is spelled Yin rather than Ying in Chinese. This game really surprised me, hope to see the next game.
Thanks for taking interest into the Long Road Ahead, and wrote your feedbacks and inputs. Much appreciate! :) Also, we are actually bunch of indie game developers from Malaysia (SEA). Stay in touch by follow us Facebook (Cellar Vault Games) and Twitter for more!
I loved this game and the art style. It is super unique. I would like to see a longer more detailed horror story like this. I hope you will create more games like this. Good job
This was a lovely game! I really loved the papercraft aesthetics and overall atmosphere, but I do wish this was longer or had more interactivity to it. I could definitely see some sort of anthology or collection of short horror stories with this type of story telling. Even if there are few interactions or actual gameplay mechanics aside from walking, I imagine it would be quite popular.
Overall, this was an enjoyable experience with an awesome art style and presentation! Hope to see more games from you guys some day~
Thanks for trying The Long Road Ahead. Glad you enjoyed it so far. :) We are actually working on second short creepy tale where there's more interactions for player to do.
Please do stay in touch via our Twitter and Facebook for news update. :D
Super cute game, really adorable and I LOVE the art style i find it incredibly unique and beautiful. The atmosphere of the game is also really well put together .
BTW what a jumpscare that totally got me! =) I hope you don't mind that I made a let's play out of it. Thank you so much for making this game!
You're welcome, and thank you for giving the Long Road Ahead try. Super glad you love the Art style, and enjoyed the experience we put together. :) I know it's short and all, but we will totally finish up the rest of the story in the future. So do stay in touch via twitter and facebook!
I personally enjoy this game! I got spooky feeling knowing I have experience this first hand, and my goodness, I love the paper art drawing. Keep it guys! I'm looking forward for more!
Super cute game, really adorable and I LOVE the art style. It was a little short, but I otherwise have no complaints!! Congrats on the end... you really got me. :P
I really liked the paper like art style, the only problem I had was the game was too short. I'd like to see a full game out of this, but then I do like a game based on different cultures mythology!
Thanks for giving the Long Road Ahead a try, and finished it. Glad you like it so far. Look it up more, on Chinese Funeral, Chinese Ghost Festival, and Qing Ming Festival. If you're interested! It will give you a understand more about the Lanterns and Pink ghosts we used in the Long Road Ahead.
I love this! It plays well into the tall-tales and urban legends that grow through almost every culture! I hope you don't mind that I made a let's play. Thank you so much for making this game! :)

Hello guys and thank you for your answer. I use the itcho desktop app and when I click on "instal" it does nothing. The download don't start, I can't really figure out what could be the problem. I have the last version, I'll try from the site.
Watched your let's play video, you seems to be very confuse the plot as it is reference to Chinese culture. I comment on your youtube video. Do check it out, if you want to know more. :D
This game surprised me, from the screen shots it looked like a point and click novel style game which I was looking forward to play but to then be informed I have WASD key control was awesome.
The way the paper reacts to the controls and environment I cant imagine how much work must have gone into this from a technical stand point this is top rate.
Oh and the story telling was good too I didn't forget that :)
Hi there, I recently played through your game and I have to say I found it quite interesting. I'm going to be upfront and say that I know very little about Chinese culture so I'm very curious as to what story (if any) this is inspired by. I absolutely love the art style of the game, I find it incredibly unique and beautiful. The atmosphere of the game is also really well put together, there's a continuous build up of mystery surrounding the road, though I did feel a tad disappointed in the end. The jump-scare at the last second is a nice touch though haha.
I couldn't really find any flaws with the game, grammar and spelling seems to be perfectly accurate, and I didn't encounter any bugs.
All in all, this is a very good horror story, I just wish I had a little bit of context as to what exactly it was that was on the road.
Also, I hope you don't mind but I made a short let's play of the game for my channel.
You have an amazing voice-over man! Props to that. Thanks for giving the Long Road Ahead a try and finish it. :) The Long Road Ahead story, didn't really inspired by any other story which I know of, however, the (Chinese) Lantern and Pink ghosts are actually meant something in this game. :D

Really loved the art style of the game and the road was interesting. I wanted to see what else was hidden in the woods. The visual novel way of telling the story worked perfectly giving the player the story and allowing it to be told by characters who know just enough to get you curious about the road. It works well and I want to see what other stories you want to tell.
The only problem I really had with the game were the parts where you control the character. They felt out of place having nothing to really add to the overall game. They could be improved by allowing the player to gain more information about the story from objects or dialogue options in the area. You could have the cashier have some dialogue warning the player about the shortcut or having missing posters on the side of the building the player could look at making the world seem a little more alive during those little parts.
Overall it's a good game with a great art style and interesting story, the game could be improved with a little bit of more interaction with the world but it works as it is and I want to see what else you will come up with in the next game.

Hi Spudcats!
What do you think so far? Any feedback and comment on Long Road Ahead?
Cheers!
Thank you so much for the feedback Spudcats! Much appreciated.
